A thought leader in venous thromboembolism, peripheral arterial disease, and women’s interventional health. National Principal Investigator, APEX-AV IDE Trial. AHA/ACC PE Guidelines Writing Committee. Building AI-powered clinical tools that advance patient care worldwide.
About
Dr. Mona Ranade is a board-certified interventional radiologist and Clinical Associate Professor of Radiology at Stanford University School of Medicine. Her clinical and research practice focuses on minimally invasive, image-guided therapies with deep expertise in venous thromboembolism, peripheral arterial disease, and women’s interventional health.
She trained at the Medical College of Wisconsin (Diagnostic Radiology residency, 2012–2016) and completed her fellowship in Vascular & Interventional Radiology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (2016–2017). She built a distinguished academic career at Mount Sinai Health System and UCLA Health before joining Stanford in July 2025.
As the national Principal Investigator for the APEX-AV IDE trial and a member of the AHA/ACC Pulmonary Embolism Guidelines Writing Committee and NCCN Cancer-Associated VTE Guidelines panel, Dr. Ranade shapes how PE and DVT are treated globally. She serves on the PERT Consortium Board of Directors (2022–2026).
Beyond clinical medicine, Dr. Ranade founded CurbsideIR LLC to build AI-powered tools—ClinicalCompass, ClinicalCopilot AI, and PECompass—that bring precision and accessibility to interventional and cardiovascular care. She is a passionate advocate for women in medicine.
Clinical Applications
Dr. Ranade founded CurbsideIR LLC to develop precision tools that support evidence-based decision-making in interventional and cardiovascular medicine.
Intelligent clinical decision support guiding IR and cardiovascular clinicians through complex patient scenarios using up-to-date evidence and guidelines.
An AI-powered copilot for clinical practice—synthesizing literature, drafting protocols, and navigating multidisciplinary management decisions in real time.
Dedicated PE decision-support offering structured risk stratification, treatment pathway guidance, and clinical trial references for PERT teams and interventionalists.
Scholarship
